The seats and tables, now engraved “HSIS” with our new branding iron, look great. This was done during our last workday by Paul Sampson, engineer and seat and table builder. It nearly killed him, lugging the gas cylinders around the reserve, but he did it.
We also planted 8 magnificent Kowhai trees, donated to the Society by staff of the Novotel Hotel in Rotorua, who also tidied up the Carpark at a workday on Thurs. 19th. So there is now the Douglas Kowhai Grove near the Douglas table on the Ynys Fraser Walkway. Photos can be seen on the Workdays page of the website. Sincere thanks to the staff of the Novotel.
