(by Jerry Douglas)
On today’s work program we continued the clearance of the bank on the tributary stream, along with the stockpiling of rubbish in readiness of burning on our next workday.
We welcomed a prospective new member who comes from California and along with a friend from North Riding both got stuck in with the morning’s tasks.
We probably need one more day working in the same area as there is still a lot of blackberry near the Eastern fence line.
As we cleared the bank we were on the lookout for the small fresh water crayfish called Koura, when we came across one it was carefully put back into the stream edge.
